Membership

We offer membership to all who contact us: prostate cancer patients, families, friends and those with our interest at heart. There is no charge. You do not have to become a member to seek our help, but we encourage you to join.

We have members in Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Swansea, Neath-Port Talbot and Bridgend. Men who contact us for help from further afield are not turned away.

There are 8 large hospitals and 131 GP practices within this area. Prostate cancer patients may have to travel considerable distances to attend clinics or for treatment.

GRANTS TO MEMBERS

We are currently able to offer grants to members to help with transport needs (for journeys outside the remit of Hospital Transport) or, for example, complementary therapy or counselling. The offer comes with a cap of £250.00. If you think such a grant may help you, please Contact Us.

COMMUNICATION

Members are unable to meet at one central venue, because of the size of the region covered by the group. However, we organise informal pub lunches for members, family and friends at various locations on a Monday, always starting at 12 noon. As our numbers grow, we hope there will be opportunities for more regular informal meetings, and formal meetings with guest speakers. We hold an AGM, usually in May.

We encourage members to join us when we are raising awareness or fund-raising in their area. Otherwise we communicate via e-mail, telephone or newsletter. Newsletters

Pub lunches

For more information on our pub lunches please contact Jean Goddard by email jeannie_g@yahoo.co.uk

or Tel. No. 07890 320610.

About 2 or 3 weeks before the next “pub” lunch an email reminder will be sent to members who have given us their email addresses. This will include, where appropriate, the available lunch menu. We will then need to know who will be attending so that we can give the venue an idea of numbers.
