Monte Carlo or Bust!
A two man team from Tenby is taking part in the 2013 Monte Carlo or Bust Banger Rally to raise money for The West Wales Prostate Cancer Support Group and Prostate Cymru. The team will be burning rubber over the hundreds of miles to Monte Carlo via France, Switzerland and Italy.
Team members Will Warren, Nick Warren and Adam Wilson were challenged to source a car for less than £250 and will be taking part in a variety of Top Gear style challenges along the way and competing for points and prizes. The team will be raising money for The West Wales Prostate Cancer Support Group and Prostate Cymru, the National Prostate Cancer Charity forWales.
Inspired by the classic Paramount film, the 3 day challenge will see over 100 of the finest British bangers visit some of Europe’s most exciting locations and experience spectacular roads with backdrops of sun, sea, sand and snow! There are a series of prizes ‘up for grabs’ including trophies for the best and worst dressed teams.
Will Warren: “It’s been a long standing ambition of ours to take part in a banger rally and we finally have the opportunity with the Monte Carlo or Bust Rally. As well as taking part we are delighted to take this opportunity to raise funds for The West Wales Prostate Cancer Support Group and Prostate Cymru, two very worthy charities and ones close to our hearts”.
Adam Wilson: “We wanted to make the car stand out from the crowd while travelling through Europe. I believe getting noticed will help us raise even more money for charity while on the rally. The model of the car (Mitsubishi Space Runner) gave us the idea of turning it into a space shuttle, that and the fact that everybody dreams of becoming an astronaut.”
